IT’S HARD TO BUILD A PRACTICE WITHOUT A CLEAR STARTING POINT

Many people come to yoga through drop-in classes, videos, or occasional practice.

That can be useful, but it often leaves you unsure about the basics:

- how to breathe
- how much effort to use
- what to focus on
- how to work with discomfort without forcing
- how to listen to the body rather than simply trying to copy a shape
- how to practise consistently without feeling overwhelmed

This course gives you a clear foundation, so you can stop guessing and start practising with more confidence.

A CLEAR AND STRUCTURED INTRODUCTION

This course teaches the foundations of Hatha Yoga step by step.

At its heart, the practice is about developing a different relationship with your body — learning to listen, feel, observe, and respond with more intelligence.

The body is not something to force into shape. It is a doorway into breath, attention, and steadiness.

Each week builds on the last, so you can develop confidence gradually instead of trying to figure everything out at once.

HOW THE COURSE WORKS

This is a 6-week live online course.

Each session is 75 minutes and includes:

- a short introduction to the theme of the week
- guided Hatha Yoga practice
- breathing and attention-based work
- time for questions and feedback

Each week, you’ll receive a simple practice focus to work with between sessions.

This gives you a clear point of attention and helps you begin building the rhythm of self-practice.

Recordings will be available for a limited time after each session.

At the end of the course, you’ll also have the option of a 20-minute one-to-one call for personal questions and feedback.

WHAT WE COVER

Breath and rhythm
Using nasal breathing, exhalation, and rhythm to create steadiness.

Week 3
Standing postures
Building stability before stretch, and learning how to meet effort without forcing.

Week 4
Seated practice
Slowing down, refining attention, and beginning to notice the habits of the mind.

Week 5
Finishing sequence
Learning how to complete a practice properly, down-regulate, and recover.

Week 6
Integration
Bringing the whole practice together into something simple, repeatable, and sustainable.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Over the 6 weeks, you’ll learn:

- how to feel the body from the inside rather than judging it from the outside

- how to listen to the breath and understand what it is showing you

- how to use effort without forcing

- how to recognise the difference between discomfort, tension, and strain

- how to stay present when practice becomes challenging

- how to use repetition to build confidence

- how to begin developing a simple self-practice

- how yoga can support steadiness in body, breath, and mind

WHAT MAKES THIS COURSE DIFFERENT

This course is not about making the body perform postures. It is a meditative approach to Hatha Yoga, where the body becomes the doorway into breath, attention, and the mind.

The postures give us a way to observe sensation, feeling, breath, and reaction. As we stay present with what arises, we may begin to notice patterns that have been held in the body for a long time: tension, resistance, avoidance, or the need to control.

Through non-judgemental observation, these patterns can begin to soften. The practice becomes a way of meeting yourself more honestly and compassionately by investigating and staying present with what is already there.

Who This Is For

This course is for anyone who wants to understand Hatha Yoga more clearly.

It is suitable for:

- complete beginners
- people returning to yoga after time away
- students who feel lost in general classes
- existing practitioners who want to clarify and deepen their understanding
- people interested in breath, awareness, and the relationship between body and mind

You do not need to be flexible, strong, experienced, or familiar with yoga philosophy.

You only need curiosity, openness, and a willingness to practise consistently.

A Note On The Aproach

This is not a fast-paced fitness class, a competitive environment, or a quick fix.

The practice is physical, but the emphasis is on breath, attention, stability, and learning how to work with the body rather than forcing it.

If you are used to measuring progress through intensity, flexibility, or achievement, this course may ask you to slow down and relate to practice differently.

But if you want to understand Hatha Yoga more clearly, build steadiness, and develop a practice you can return to, this course is a strong place to begin.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

By the end of the course, you’ll have:

- a clearer understanding of how to approach Hatha Yoga
- a simple structure for continuing your practice
- more confidence in working with posture, breath, and attention
- a better sense of how to listen to the body without forcing it
- a clearer understanding of effort, tension, softening, and steadiness
- the beginning of a self-practice you can return to

You won’t be expected to master everything in six weeks.

The aim is to give you a clear and steady foundation — something you can build on over time.
